Thursday, April 27, 2006           Arrive London

Meet group at hotel in London.  After getting settled in our hotel for our four night stay we can start exploring this exciting city!  We will have a welcome orientation meeting today, otherwise the rest of the day will be free for you to enjoy!  Check out the popular areas around our hotel and then tonight maybe dinner at a local restaurant with other members in the group and enjoy the nightlife!  There’s never a dull moment in this vibrant city!

 

Friday, April 28, 2006                 London

After our full English breakfast, we start our orientation city sightseeing tour.  Our morning tour includes a drive drive through Westminster, past Downing Street- home of the Prime Minister, then on to the Houses of Parliament and the famous Big Ben.  Also drive by Buckingham Palace, Piccadilly Circus, home of London 's Theaterland, then we pass Trafalgar Square with its impressive Nelson's Column and fountains, and we tour the West End’s magnificent buildings, delightful parks and smart shopping streets  before the end of the tour. 

Lunch is on your own with friends and then you have the afternoon free to continue sightseeing with others from the group.  Some examples of things to do: cruise on the River Thames, visit the Tower of London- you’ll meet the magnificent Beefeaters, clad in their Tudor uniforms, and hear the legend of the ravens and some spine chilling tales from the Tower's 900 year history and make time to see the Crown Jewels, magnificently displayed in the Jewel House.  Or  you could visit inside Westminster Abbey, site of many royal coronations. In there you can visit Poets Corner and the tombs of many well-known scientists and monarchs and see the Chapel of Henry VII.

 This evening maybe enjoy a good restaurant, some fish and chips and a night at the theater!

Saturday, April 29, 2006              London    

Free day to explore London on your own or with new friends from the group!  Shop at Harrod’s, maybe take the Hop-On/ Hop-Off bus for an in depth sightseeing tour of the city-this is a good way to get around to all the famous sights at a very reasonable price; get tickets for the theater; ride the ferris wheel; have tea and scones with strawberry jam and clotted cream at Harrod’s or the Ritz’s! Also see Buckingham Palace to see the colorful ceremony of the Changing of the Guard. (If held).   Or take an optional tour to Stonehenge and Bath.  So much to see and do!

Sunday, April 30, 2006                London

Free day again to have the time to visit the wonderful museums that London has to offer, shop at Harrods or at least check it out (!), continue sightseeing (as you still have a lot to see!).  Or take an optional tour to Hampton Court or the quaint Cotswalds, the university town of Oxford, and Stratford-upon-Avon. Tonight, why not see a theater play or enjoy a wonderful dinner at a famous restaurant.

Monday, May 1, 2006                   London to Paris via the Eurostar Chunnel

Today we transfer to Paddington station for our Eurostar train trip through the chunnel to Paris. On arrival we are transferred to our hotel.  Get settled and then we will either have our orientation meeting today with our city orientation tour or it may be tomorrow morning.  Either way you will see the sights of Paris!  Our orientation tour shows you some of the famous highlights of Paris:  the Place de la Concorde, the Champs Elysees, Arc de Triomphe, Eiffel Tower, Town Hall, The Bastille, the prestigious Sorbonne Unitversity and the Pantheon.

Then in your free time today or tomorrow you may want to admire the bridges and the majestic monuments along the Seine River during a delightful one-hour cruise. Or you can enjoy a superb panoramic view of this romantic city from the 2nd floor of the Eiffel Tower! Tonight, so much to see and do on your first night in the City of Lights!

Tuesday, May 2, 2006                  Paris

This morning after breakfast you may want  to enjoy the Louvre Museum by taking a walking tour or enjoy it on your own with friends from the group.  You can visit various areas such as the medieval fortress, the modern pyramid, the Egyptian department and the most reputed works of art such as the Mona Lisa by Leonardo da Vinci.       This afternoon is also free and at your leisure to explore with members of the group; take time to see the other famous museums in Paris; people watch from your advantage point of a sidewalk café sipping Parisian coffee or shop the magnificent shops of which Paris is famous for!  Tonight stroll the Latin Quarter or Champs Elysees to people watch!

Wednesday, May 3, 2006            Paris

A full free day to explore Paris or take an optional tour. You may want to take a ½ day visit to Versailles Palace to visit the State Apartments and the gardens of this famous symbol of France’s grandeur during the reign of the Sun King, Loius XIV.  Or you may want to journey to Monet’s home, gardens and studio at the beautiful, peaceful and colorful countryside of Giverny with a local tour with free time to visit the American Museum in Giverny village.

Tonight is your last night in Europe rxploring this great city-enjoy!! Some optional ideas for the evening- Paris Seine River cruise with or without dinner or the new Moulin Rouge Show.

 Time to go home….!  Group transfer in am to the airport for those who have purchased the air inclusive package.
