Equestrian Singles Ride to France

   

 

Daily Itinerary:  

This trail is an introduction to trail riding and the Luberon regional nature park. The discovery of its beautiful landscapes make beginners fears soon disappear. The kindness of the horses allows a rapid development of the rider in all gaits suitable for trail riding (walk trot and canter). The Luberon stationary ride has obtained the labeling of the Luberon regional nature park.  

Day 1. Sunday:

Rendez-vous at Mas de Recaute. Welcome refreshment and presentation of the trail ride. Dinner at the host's table. Overnight at Mas de Recaute.

Day 2. Monday:

A short hack to get you in the saddle in the hills around the Mas (Provincial farm). One hour in the morning. Lunch on the grounds of the equestrian center. In the afternoon the group leaves for two hours to explore the rolling hills of the Luberon Mountain range. Enjoy white oaks, olive trees and the great perfume filled countryside of Provence.

Day 3. Tuesday:

This whole day ride to the Durance River give riders a chance to go further and discover more of the Luberon Mountain range with it's great fields of cherry trees. Riders will have ample time for a picnic complete with aperitif, cheese, deserts and coffee. The afternoon is dedicated to exploring the countryside leading to the river of La Durance. Dinner and accommodations at Mas de Recaute.

Day 4. Wednesday:

The horses are given a well deserved rest in the morning. Riders leave their boots behind as they leave with their guide for a tour by minivan to some of the most spectacular villages of Provence such as Lourmarin, Bonnieux, Gordes or Roussillon. Explore the 12th century castle and gardens in Ansouis with it's magnificent collection of 17th century furniture and tapestries.  The village of Provence are set a short distance away from one another, so riders have plenty of time to walk the great centuries old cobblestone streets and to appreciate the breathtaking views of Bonnieux and Gordes. In the afternoon, riders will mount up for a 2 hour ride through the surrounding hills of Luberon. You will have dinner at Mas de Recaute for the fete du France.

Day 5. Thursday:

Ride above the village of Merindol, with its old village destroyed during the religious wars. Enjoy a picnic of local French cuisine. In the afternoon, you will ride at the foot of the Luberon Mountain through pine and oak forests. During this hack, you will be able to enjoy a wine tasting at Domaine de la Verrerie, a very famous cellar in Luberon.

Day 6. Friday:

After breakfast, transportation to train station or airport. Departure from Mas de Recaute is at 10 am. (Reservations should be made for the 12 noon train or plane)
