Day 1 - Sunday:

Hiking the Sand Dunes - 1 Mile

Your adventure begins in Las Vegas where we meet and shuttle to Death Valley National Park and our home for the next five nights, at Furnace Creek. After a brief stop at the hotel, we roam the nearby sand dunes on the valley floor while taking in the surrounding mountains warmly colored with the purple alpine glow of the setting sun

Meals included: D

Day 2 - Monday

Hiking Trail Canyon - 8 Miles

After a delicious breakfast, we head out to the Panamint Range. Our first stop today is at an abandoned gold mine where you can learn a bit about the prospector who worked it. We then head to the top of Trail Canyon, so called because the native Shosone Indians climbed this canyon from the valley floor every spring to spend their summers in the cooler mountain climate. As we descend the switchbacks of the upper canyon, you’ll take in the colorful rock stratifications marking 250 million years of geological history. Tonight we dine in the company of a National Park Ranger who will be able to answer our questions about the park and tell us what it’s like to live in Death Valley year-round.

Meals included: B, L & D

Day 3 – Tuesday:

Biking from Scotty's Castle – 36, 55 or 66 miles

Starting at the famed “castle” named for the charismatic Walter Scott, aka Death Valley Scotty, you can take in a living history tour with our docent who explains the history of this ornate Spanish-style mansion constructed in the 1920s. We then head downhill on our bike route that takes us through the northern part of Death Valley, past the massive Ubehebe Crater and back to Furnace Creek. As with any day on our bikes, at any point you are welcome to hop in the support van when you are done biking for the day, but given the net elevation loss of 3,000 feet, many of our guests find they can bike the longer distance options more easily. This afternoon is the perfect time to relax in the soothing, spring-fed waters of the pool at the hotel.

Meals included: B, L & D

Day 4 – Wednesday:

Hiking Wildrose, Rogers or Telescope Peak – 8, 11 or 14 Miles

We lace up our hiking boots again and return to the towering Panamint Range today. Depending on the weather conditions and your preferences, you can hike from our starting point at 7,000 feet to the summit of Wildrose Peak at 9,064 feet, Rogers Peak at 9,994 feet, or to the tallest mountain in the park, Telescope Peak at 11,049 feet. You’ll discover the views from each of these peaks are nothing short of stunning.

Meals included: B & L

Day 5 – Thursday:

Biking to Badwater - 38, 54 or 68 Miles

We begin at Dante’s View at 5,475 feet and descend to the Badwater salt flat at 282 feet below sea level, the lowest place in the Western Hemisphere. After our picnic lunch at Badwater, you are welcome to bike back to Furnace Creek or shuttle in the van, either way witnessing the beautiful natural pastels of the Artist’s Palette rock formation. Tonight we enjoy our final dinner at the inn, with another opportunity to sample the more exotic cactus and rattlesnake options beyond the standard menu items.

Meals included: B, L & D

Day 6 – Friday:

Hiking Golden Canyon – 3 miles

Our day starts early as we take in sunrise with a champagne breakfast at Zabriskie Point. After watching the sunlight illuminate the Badlands and Manly Beacon, you’ll hike through the multi-hued walls of Golden Canyon. We then savor lunch at the inn and depart for Las Vegas while fondly recollecting the adventures of the week.

Meals included: B & L

Rest assured, our goal is to leave you with the best possible experience so that you’ll choose to travel with us again and again.
